Out of the Cold
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page book review on "Out of the Cold: New Thinking for American Foreign and Defense Policy in the 21st Century," by Robert S. McNamara. This was a book written very shortly before the end of the Cold War and as such presents a very unique look into one man's opinions about where the power struggle between East and West, was heading. McNamara was incredibly accurate in many of his notions, stressing that such positions as were held by the two nations, could not continue in light of all the pressure that was building. U. S. - Russia Relations: After The Cold War
[ send me this paper ]
9 pages. A great relaxation of Russian-American tensions has taken place since the Cold War, and it is much less likely we will see the sort of superpower confrontations that took place during the Cold War, such as the Berlin Blockade of 1948-1949 and the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. There now appears to be a pattern in which we see U. S. - Russian global cooperation, as we saw by the closely coordinated Russian and American policies toward Irag after it invaded Kuwait. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Political Essay: End Of The Cold War
[ send me this paper ]
The Cold War was a direct consequence of the development of nuclear weapons and the political dichotomy of communism and capitalism. After World War I, the emergence of new political powers such as the United States, which had been forced out of their policy of isolationism by the War, and Russia brought to the political consciousness the stark differences in ideologies. This 2 page essay argues that the 'Cold War' continues in that the emotional wounds that were created during that period of history are still a reality to the people who were the audience. Bibliography lists 1 sources.
