A 9 page paper examining one of the many reasons why the North won the War in the United States. There are many reasons why this war was won by the North and perhaps the most important factor in the defeat of the South was due to the intelligence of Sherman. He gained full force and began a campaign for a march when the war looked to be at its worst. He used a great military understanding that some believe was a mark of true genius. His efforts to eliminate supplies and weapons of the South brought a long war to an end and saved many lives as a result. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
