The future of the Japanese External Trading Organization (JETRO)
as regards the part that Canada will play is the focal point of
this paper. Taken into consideration are what the international
role of Canada will be ten years from now. Will Canada have an
even greater international profile, or will it be less activist,
and how will this impact the Canada-U.S. economic relationship?
Taken into account are the future directions of NAFTA as well as
the Canada-U.S. relations as they are today and the direction in
