Leadership at the Battle of Ia Drang

This was the first major battle between the Americans and the North Vietnamese. led by Lt. Col. Moore (now Lt. Gen.), 450 American soldiers held off more than 2,000 North Vietnamese for three days. They held LZ X-Ray. This essay offers a brief biography of Lt. Gen. Moore, highlights of his military career leading up to this battle, how he prepared his unit, and how he led them. There are ten sources listed in the bibliography of this fourteen page paper.
