Mining Uranium in Kakadu National Park

This 6 page paper examines the management practices of uranium mining in Kakadu National Park (KNP), which is a World Heritage site. The writer argues that the Australian government is biased in favor of nuclear energy, and this bias meant that insufficient incentives, both positive and negatives, were put in place to protect the environment. The writer examines the controversy over the mining efforts as well as the limited regulations that are in place. There are 6 sources listed in the bibliography.
