Rent Control In Ontario, Canada
This 6 page paper investigates the issue of rent control in Ontario, Canada. Rent control originally took affect more than twenty years ago but just a few years ago, those laws were changed. Rent control now favors the landlord and places more than a million tenants at risk of not finding affordable housing. Already, there are more than 30 percent of all tenants in the province who do not live in affordable housing. This essay focuses more on the economic issues than on the political issues.
