Sustainability and Canada’s Forests

An 8 page outline of the concept of sustainability as delineated in the 1987 report by the World Commission on Environment and Development, a report commonly referred to as the Brundtland Report, and compares this concept to the concept of sustainable development. Concludes that really the two concepts are the same but that each will require considerable changes in the way we view our environment and our place in that environment if we are to be successful in conserving our tremendously valuable natural resources while at the same time allowing ongoing human development. Provides a particular emphasis to the conservation of Canada’s valuable forested areas. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
